Card of the Day - 2016 Topps Heritage : Mike Trout Base Action Photo Variation
Trying a different route with this year's Heritage photo variation of Mike Trout but I think it didn't go as planned but we shall see very shortly.
I picked up the 2015 action variation of Trout which had already been graded by BGS as a gem mint 9.5. Cost for that was excellent but this year I didn't want to wait for a graded copy to pop up on eBay as I knew I was doing my own massive submission to BGS so I wanted to pick up a raw version and get it done now. I found this copy on a cheap enough BIN auction and snatched it up and crossed my fingers that when it arrived it would be in a condition that should earn it a gold banner from Beckett. At best I would say it has about a 50/50 chance of achieving gold status as centering is good but there is a fraying corner that is obviously giving me concern.
Other than that this is a great card as I love the Heritage brand and their numerous variations and quirks.
Thank you for reading and have a blessed day.

That's a really nice one! Have you heard about the throwback variations? I don't know if they made one for Kershaw...did the Dodgers even wear throwback unis last year? I can't remember.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of them and seen them and I can thankfully the Dodgers dont have one in the set. They are going for hundreds of dollars on eBay and I would "hate" to "have" to have one. Ha Ha
