March 2017 BGS Submission Result Number TWENTY-TWO of FORTY-TWO - 2012 Topps Tribute Clayton Kershaw Base Autograph Blue Parallel (17/50) Now BGS Graded Gem Mint 9.5

Nothing like a blue autograph parallel of the best pitcher in baseball aka the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw.

I've had pretty good luck with the Tribute brand when submitting them to BGS for the grading treatment and this 2012 card is no different as it officially joins the gem mint section of my collection. Didn't expect any issues with it when I included it in the batch and there was none to be found by Beckett as well. Quad 9.5 sub grades with a 10 on auto and this beautiful card just got a little prettier.

Card of the Day - 2012 Topps Tribute : Clayton Kershaw Base Autograph Blue Parallel (17/50)

When I see a parallel I don't have. = )
When I see an autograph of Kershaw I don't have = ))
When I see a bargain for an autograph Kershaw that I don't have = )))

Yup, this fits all of those comments as I welcome yet another Clayton autograph to the collection and my project of owning 100 signatures of Mr. Kershaw. With Clayton being a Dodger I am always partial to blue parallels as they look great against Dodger unis.

With this card being encased by Topps I always hope that it means that condition will be good when it arrives to me and I think this one has a good chance of earning a 9.5 from Beckett. When this post goes live it will be closer to the 2017 baseball season then it is when I type it up (mid December) but this one was picked up in the 2016 off season and was another auction bargain. The only good thing about no baseball are steals for baseball cards.

Card of the Day - 2012 Topps Tribute : Clayton Kershaw Base Autograph (43/99) BGS Graded Gem Mint 9.5

So yeah, I so wasn't happy with a few of my returns on Kershaw autographs from my most recent BGS submission batch so to fix that I cracked and sold them and went on a slight Kershaw auto binge to offset the bad taste in my mouth that Beckett left.

I sold 2 of my Kershaw autographs (including other cards from the batch) and decided to pick up 3 Clayton autographs and this is the 1st and easiest to make it into my hands. Of the 3 two of them I made sure they were gem mint as they had already been graded as such from Beckett. There was no cost for this card as the sale of 1 autograph card and 1 other non auto covered the full cost for this gem from 2012.

Gem through and through

I am highly picky when it comes to CK's autographs and while I will accept plain old mint 9's I just can't accept anything less in my collection so this 9.5 fits nicely in my Kershaw stack. 1 autograph down and 2 more to go with a biggie coming up.

Trade with Fellow Blogger - DodgerBobble ( Second Trade ) : 2012 Topps Tribute : Matt Kemp Base Autograph Blue Parallel ( 7 / 50 )

Josh aka DodgerBobble and I have done a trade in the past and one day when I was talking to him about something else he sent me a text picture asking if I was interested in this card. Well hello beautiful.

It was ironic that I just lost two separate auctions on this same card the day before on eBay. I wanted this because it is an on card autograph of Kemp and it shows him in the Dodger's alternate Brooklyn uniform. It being the blue parallel is just icing on the cake. As most of you know I have for the most part stopped getting balls signed but that didn't mean I was just going to get rid of my inventory of blank balls. I knew I could use them for trades like these. Josh wanted 3 balls for this card and if you go by market value for this card and the price I paid for the balls it almost came out even.

Finally added this beauty to my collection. Thank you again to Josh for offering and holding onto the card till we could complete the trade.

Card of the Day - 2012 Topps Tribute : Felix Hernandez Base Autograph Blue Parallel ( 48 / 50 )

Another reacquired autograph for my collection where the first one never saw a blog post due to the back log of the que.

I had a single signed ball of King Felix and was able to sell it and acquire this card and still had money left over to buy a few more things. The ball's signature was starting to fade a little so I unloaded that at the right time and now have this great looking, crisp, blue on card autograph of King Felix.

Could have picked up the non blue version but for $3 more why not have the blue one right?
