Card of the Day - 2013 Topps Five Star : Matt Kemp Base ( 73 / 75 )

For only a handful of Dodger cards in this set they sure are hard to come by. Of course that's what happens when the "base" set only has 75 copies of each card. It becomes quite the hunt even for players that are minor in stature or falling in the hobby such as Matt Kemp here is.

At the time of this purchase this was the only Kemp copy up on eBay. Past sales have been from anywhere between $6 to over $20. All depending on the demand on that particular day. The seller had this card on a BIN ( buy it now ) auction for $20. Still too high for my taste. We ended up haggling for a few days until I decided to go with his last offer. It was still more than I wanted to spend but it was less than book.

With Kemp now in hand I only have Koufax, Kershaw and Puig left on the list of Dodgers to acquire. Prices on all 3 can get out of control so we shall see.
