BGS Submission Result Number ONE - 2013 Bowman Chrome : Corey Seager Base Blue Wave Refractor Parallel Now BGS Graded Near Mint Plus 7.5

And the long journey of posts begins here.

I have 62 cards worth of returns to though and for the most part I will do one every other day which means this will go on for about 4 months. As I have always done I will be cutting and pasting my original thoughts on said card's submission and then my thoughts on the results. With that said here is a massive disappointment. It does not have the lowest grade of the batch but it does have the worst return in my opinion

2013 Bowman Chrome Corey Seager Blue Wave Refractor

I am going to put this card in the expected gem mint return pile as even though you can tell that the card is not centered from top to bottom (60/40 at worse) but it is centered from side to side. That is the only issue I see and considering there are no surfaces flaws and the corners are beyond sharp I expect at least 3 9.5 sub grades with an outside chance of four. Though it is not numbered it is still a beautiful card and considering I picked it up on a trade it can only get better with a high grade.

I was/am so close to having a graded rainbow for my 2013 Bowman Chrome Seager project and with this card's return (and another in the batch) I will have to wait a couple more months for an acceptable graded rainbow.

I have no idea what BGS is thinking that centering is an 8 and corners are a 7.5? What the hell? I honestly think someone dropped the card while grading as the corners had no issues when it left my possession. Centering maybe might earn an 8.5 but an 8? Well this was a turd of return from Beckett but I have another blue wave to submit next time they are here. Even though this (and the other aforementioned card) are not in the grade I needed for my rainbow I still consider the rainbow complete but it just needs to be adjusted in the coming months. For those that might ask I will only accept 9's for my rainbow, nothing less.

Off center and damaged corners my ass.

Thank you for reading and have a blessed day.

  1. What the...?! Centering is an 8?? There must be something wrong with one of the corners that you didn't see. Or maybe the grader was having a sh*tty day! Hey, at least it wasn't the canary or red! Bust it out of the case and throw it on the Bay.

    1. Im gonna go with shitty day. Is what it is but overall the batch was good/great with only the 1st 4/5 in the "bad" column but I already fixed that "issue" with that Kershaw Museum piece. = )

  2. Dude whoever graded the centering this time around was way off. My Trout Update centering was probably the best part of the card and it couldn't even get a 9.5 subgrade lol.

    1. Agreed but thankfully I dont think it was the same person or my whole batch would have been "crap". Only a handful on my side werent "acceptable"
