BGS Submission Update Nine - 2013 Allen and Ginter : Josh Hamilton Mini Frame Autograph Red Variant ( 9 / 10 ) Now Graded and Slabbed a Gem Mint 9.5

Original Submission Post
Beckett Book Value : $100 ish ( no hard amount due to rarity )

The surprising results continue with this very limited Josh card.

I didn't know what to expect from BGS on this card. It is centered, the edges are clean and the autograph looks to be perfect. My problem or potential issue with BGS about it was that if you look near the hand written number 9/10 there appears to be a smudge mark. I assumed it was done by Josh's finger when he signed the card. My thinking was how would this affect the grade. Does it hurt the autograph grade? Does it hurt the surface grade since it "alters" it? This was the one card I was really interested in what they thought. Grades came back and they were :

10
9.5
9.5
9.5
10

Well OK then.
Autograph came out a perfect 10 so the smudge didn't affect that. The other sub grade, surface, that I thought could be affected came back a 9.5 coupled with 2 more 9.5's and a 10 made this a very strong gem mint card. I don't know everything and it shows here as I was sure the card would be docked for the smudge. Instead I now own the only gem mint red variant of Josh.

Smudge? What smudge?
