The blue crew pursuit continues and with it I picked up yet another set need.
How many more years will I be pursuing Carl Crawford cards? Don't know but the sooner the better as if I am not looking for them then he must no longer be on the team and if that has come to past the the team I believe is better for it. Till that time I "must" acquire his cards to keep my sets complete.
As with Onleki the demand for Crawford is not very high but this card did cost me a little more than Onleki's which was only $1.33. How much more? 17 cents. I think I can handle that. One more card off the need list with more to come.

I'm sure you have mentioned this, but how do you determine what parallels you go for out of each set.
ReplyDeleteI used to go after "most" of them but now I only go for black and blue. Too many to chase after and rather spend the cash on autographs than get "all" colors of the rainbow.
DeleteI'm pretty sure you would go insane if you went after everything.
DeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteI at one time was going after "just" 5 colors and that was bad enough. More concentrated collecting now and its more fulfilling as well
Back in the early to mid 2000's I was trying to secure every Pirate I could since we didn't have high end talent, but had to change my philosophy now that we have good players and a bona fide superstar in McCutchen. Now I just classify myself as a team collector who just buys cards that catches his eye. I usually challenge myself with a few relic or auto sets just to make things interesting .
DeleteYou have a lot of good players but I think losing Martin is going to sting this year for you. I am a team collector in parallels only but I will/am trying to get an autograph of every Dodger to put on the uniform but that is a pricey endeavor. Finally get to add Chan Ho this weekend
